Cockermouth, the birthplace of William Wordsworth, is
now a prosperous market town located on the banks of the
river Cocker and the river Derwent. It has a wonderful
selection of restaurants, tea rooms and public houses as
well as antique shops, quality galleries and craft
shops. After a hard days walking, treat yourself to a
pint from the local brewery, a glass of wine or a quiet
meal. There is plenty to occupy you in Cockermouth if
those tired limbs need a days’ rest. |

Double
Dux is conveniently situated just a few hundred yards
from a variety of places to eat and drink; also close by
are the shops, leisure centre and parks. It is less than
15 minutes drive from Keswick which also has many
attractions for tourists and walkers alike. Take
Wainwright's ‘easy route’ from the centre of the town to
admire the views from the top of Skiddaw or hire a
mountain bike to explore the beautiful fells. |
